He was married to Ida Josephine REMKE (daughter of B. (Bernard) Herman REMKE and Bernadine MEIER) on 6 Feb 1917 in St John's Nep Church, Fort Atkinson, Iowa. Ida Josephine REMKE was born on 17 Oct 1891 in Ossian, Winneshiek County, Iowa. She was christened on 19 Oct 1891. She died on 3 Jan 1946 in Fort Atkinson, Winneshiek County, Iowa.
